Unless otherwise specified, each of the following matters was contested on liability and/or damages, the opposing parties were represented, the matters involved complex legal and/or factual issues, and the law firm was successful in collecting the amounts stated. $6,439,500 – Automobile Accident/DWI/ Dram Shop/ Social Host Liability/Wrongful Death – Settlements and judgments for two clients who were killed by a drunk driver going the wrong way and hitting the clients’ vehicle head on. (Mecklenburg, 2009).

$2,200,000 – Bus Accident – Settlement after litigation and mediation for a client who was a passenger in a bus, when the bus driver fell asleep and caused the bus to collide with a tractor-trailer resulting in serious fractures to client’s neck, hip and leg . (Vance County, 2010).

$1,900,000 – Truck Accident – Settlement after mediation for a client who was driving his automobile when a tractor-trailer made a left turn in front of him causing serious injuries, including fractures to his arm, leg and ankle. (Mecklenburg County, 2010).

$1,625,000 – Medical Negligence – Settlement prior to trial after extensive discovery and litigation for a client who suffered brain damage because of medical negligence. (Burke County, 2006).

$1,600,000 – Automobile Accident – Settlement for a client whose vehicle ran out of gas and while stopped was hit in rear rendering the client a quadriplegic. (Mecklenburg County, 2003).

$1,575,000 – Automobile Accident – Settlement at Mediation for a client who sustained a closed injury with cognitive, emotional and other injuries. (Catawba County, 1998).

$1,500,000 – Trucking Accident/Wrongful Death – Settlement at Mediation for a client who died in a motor vehicle accident when a garbage truck drove though a stop light and hit client’s vehicle. (Cleveland County, 2000).

$1,400,000 – Automobile Accident/Workers’ Compensation – Settlements at Mediations for a client who was injured in a motor vehicle accident while delivering parts for his employer. (Mecklenburg County, 2005).

$1,300,000 – Automobile Accident – Settlement for a client on a moped who sustained serious injuries, including multiple fractures and head and brain injuries, when another vehicle made a left turn in front of him. (Mecklenburg County, 2010).

$1,250,000 – Workers’ Compensation – Settlement to Mediation for a client who fell off a ladder and injured his back resulting in paraplegia. (Mecklenburg County, 2006).

$1,200,000 – Automobile Accident – Settlement for an elderly couple who were killed when another vehicle went through a stop sign and hit their vehicle in the side, pushing it into a street light pole. (Rutherford County, 2010).

$1,050,000 – Medical Negligence – Settlement after Mediation and prior to trial for a child who was deprived of oxygen for 15 minutes during childbirth at a teaching hospital. (Mecklenburg County, 2002)

$1,000,000 – Workers’ Compensation – Settlement after mediation for a client who fell at work while doing inventory and suffered multiple fractures to both legs and face. (Mecklenburg County, 2009).

$1,000,000 – Motorcycle Accident – Settlement for a client who struck the defendant’s vehicle after it pulled out from a flashing red light failing to yield the right of way to the client. The client, who was operating a motorcycle at the time of the collision, suffered severe injuries including the loss of use of both of his legs. (Caldwell County, 2008)

$1,000,000 – Automobile Accident/DWI – Settlement for a client who sustained a spinal cord injury resulting in paraplegia when a driver who was cited for driving while impaired failed to yield the right of way. (Caldwell County, 2007).
