DEMAYO LAW OFFICES PARTICIPATES IN MADD, HABITAT FOR HUMANITY EVENTS

CHARLOTTE, NC (May 18, 2009) - The Law Offices of Michael A. DeMayo, L.L.P. ® participated in two community service events in May: walking to help raise money to combat drinking and driving and helping build homes for low-income families.

May 2, Attorney Michael A. DeMayo served as the honorary chairman for the Walk Like MADD event hosted by Mothers Against Drunk Driving. The second annual 5K walk helped raise money to support programs for victims of drunk driving and programs to prevent drunk driving and underage drinking. More than two dozen employees and their families turned out for the event and helped raise more than $2,500.

"Our firm deals with the aftermath and devastation of drinking and driving on a daily basis, so I was honored to serve as honorary chairman and help support this worthwhile cause," DeMayo said.

On May 16, 25 employees spent the morning hanging dry wall at a Habitat for Humanity house in Charlotte. The organization partners with families to create affordable housing options. In addition to volunteering, the firm also made a $15,000 donation.

"We are happy to partner with Habitat for Humanity and give back to an organization that has helped so many people in our community," DeMayo said. "This was a wonderful way to spend a morning and a great team building and volunteer experience."
