Mrs. Grimes received her B.A. in economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She received her Juris Doctor in 1989 from Wake Forest University School of Law, where she was a member of the Wake Forest Law Review and Moot Court Board. She also was a quarterfinalist in the Wake Forest Law School First Year Moot Court Competition and received the American Jurisprudence Book Award in Remedies. Additionally, she has served as Adjunct Professor of Law at Wake Forest University School of Law.
Mrs. Grimes was admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 1989 and is licensed to practice in North Carolina state courts and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina. Her affiliations include the North Carolina State Bar, North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers, North Carolina Bar Association and American Association for Justice.
She has earned the highest professional rating from her peers as evidence by receiving the Martindale-Hubbell peer evaluation rating of AV.
