Serzone
Serzone is an anti-depression medication that the FDA approved in 1994. Since then, it has been prescribed in varying dosages to help people with depression and other psychological problems or disorders.
Serzone, or nefazodone hydrochloride, is manufactured by Bristol-Myers Squibb, and was preferred for many years because it had fewer known side effects than other antidepressants. Serzone works in a similar way to Paxil. When you take Serzone, it inhibits the body’s absorption of serotonin and norepinephrine. The result is a solution for people suffering from depression or anxiety.
In 2001, however, Serzone was given the “black box warning” by the FDA due to the discovery of increased risks and side effects. There are many side effects and risks associated with Serzone, including:
- Headache
- Nausea
- Liver Failure
- Jaundice
- Anorexia
- Nausea
- Abdominal Pain
- Very Dark Urine
- Seizures
If you or a loved on has experienced any of the serious side effects of Serzone, contact the Law Offices of Michael A. DeMayo, L.L.P. ® to schedule your free initial consultation.
