Statutes of Limitations

Each state in the country has statutes of limitations that can prevent you from filing your personal injury claim at some point after the incident. While this keeps cases current and applicable, it also prevents you from filing you personal injury claim whenever you want.

The statutes of limitations vary for every type of case, and they vary between states. Some states allow more time for you to file a claim, while other states only allow a very limited time frame in which you can file.

Statutes of limitations can become even more confusing if you have to file your personal injury claim in another state. For instance, if you are injured in a truck accident, you may file a claim against the trucking company, rather than the truck driver, and the trucking company may be located in a different state with a different statute of limitations.

They will also make sure that your claim is filed in the appropriate manner and within the required statute of limitations.
