Why Not Just Choose Any GranuFlo or NaturaLyte Attorney to Take Your Dialysis Injury Case?

In a batch of recent blog posts, we’ve discussed the legal battle over Fresenius’ GranuFlo and NaturaLyte dialysis products.

Just to recap: These dialysis products — which are available at hundreds of clinics across the United States — can stimulate cardiac damage (even fatal heart attacks) in certain vulnerable patients, probably because they elevate bicarbonate levels in these patients.

Although Fresenius has since revised its procedures to make the application of these drugs safer, many consumer advocates, watchdogs, and plaintiffs believe that the company acted negligently and in a “too little, too late” fashion which created tremendous harm and injury to many people.

If you lost a loved one — or you yourself suffered cardiac problems because of these dialysis products — you could be eligible to join or create a legal action against Fresenius and possibly against other medical providers and services. Given what you’ve been through, this revelation may seem exciting — or least encouraging — at first.

But now you face another challenge.

What GranuFlo or NaturaLyte law firm should you choose for the case, if any?

If you just go and Google this topic, you will get bombarded by hundreds of law firms that all claim to have special expertise in this type of litigation. Reading all these choices can lead to a feeling of tremendous overwhelm and overload. Even if you get a referral from friends or neighbors, you then have to compare the referral to all the law firms that you find online.

The process can just get so confusing. This is bad for two reason:

1. Since you lack a process to parse these law firms — to judge which ones will be good or bad — you might do nothing and thus blunt your chances of ever getting fair and just compensation for your injuries, medical bills, surgeries, lost companionship, etc. And that would be terrible.

2. You could impulsively choose a firm based on one random recommendation or based on your “gut feeling” and thus wind up with a lackluster firm that gets you a less than ideal settlement.

Obviously, since the Law Offices of Michael A. DeMayo does help people with NaturaLyte and GranuFlo cases, we can’t by any stretch offer an objective vantage on this matter! But here’s a strategy that you can use, whether or not you choose to call us at (877) 529-1222 for a free consultation about your case.

First things first, picture in your mind delegating the task of choosing a GranuFlo or NaturaLyte law firm to someone else — someone you trust. What would you tell that person to do (or not do) when choosing your attorney? Write down all the instructions that you would give that person on a piece of paper or on a Microsoft word document. Flush out as many of these rules as you can. It should only take you about five minutes or so. These rules constitute the principles by which you should proceed with your quest for a law firm. Think of them as your scaffolding or guardrails.

Once you have this scaffolding in place, brainstorm what the ideal relationship with an attorney would look like. In other words, if you could get everything you want and more from a lawyer, what would that experience look like and feel like. Once you have this mental scaffolding erected, you will intuitively be able to parse your options much easier and faster, and you’ll waste a lot less time researching.
